Using Linkrium as a Web Messaging App
Linkrium runs in a modern web browser, so the same account can open the inbox on supported desktop and mobile browsers without claiming a native application.

Browser-based, not a native app#
Linkrium is delivered as a responsive web application. It can be opened from a current browser on desktop or mobile, but it should not be described as a native Android, iOS, Windows, macOS, or Linux application.
The web app includes a manifest for supported browser installation experiences. Browser installation does not guarantee offline message access, native background behavior, or every operating-system integration.
What you need#
- A current browser with JavaScript and cookies enabled.
- An internet connection to load and synchronize the inbox.
- Permission to use any requested browser notification capability.
- A Linkrium account and at least one connection publicly available in the environment.
Desktop and mobile behavior#
The interface adapts to smaller screens and touch input. Desktop layouts provide more room for the conversation list, thread, and contact context. Exact background synchronization and notification behavior can vary by browser and operating system.
Use the browser’s own update channel. If an issue appears only in one browser, record its name, version, device, and the action that triggered the problem.
Installation and notification limits#
Some browsers offer an “install app” or “add to home screen” action for web applications. This creates an app-like window or shortcut; it does not turn Linkrium into a native binary.
Notifications require permission and may be limited by browser background policies, battery settings, or private browsing. Always keep an alternative way to check important messages.
Compatibility verification#
Before depending on Linkrium across devices, sign in, open a test conversation, search for a known phrase, send a test reply through an available account, and confirm notification behavior on each browser you intend to use.
